The Federal Government has designated Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration. This announcement came from the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who, through a statement signed by the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, extended felicitations to the Muslim Ummah both within Nigeria and internationally. The Minister emphasized the significance of reflecting on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, and encouraged prayers for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria during this solemn period.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also took the opportunity to reassure citizens that the ongoing reforms and policies under President Bola Tinubu's "Renewed Hope Agenda" are aimed at steering Nigeria towards sustainable growth and progress. Concluding his message, he wished the Muslim faithful a joyous Eid-ul-Adha and called upon all Nigerians, irrespective of their religious or regional affiliations, to collaborate with the current administration in the collective effort to rebuild and restore the nation's glory.
