A Nigerian woman, identified on social media as @h_okolobe, is enduring a deeply distressing period, grappling not only with the disappearance of her husband but also with a shocking family dispute that has seen her mother-in-law allegedly seize their home. Her husband, Mr. Believe Ubara, vanished on January 19, 2024, reportedly abducted by armed men at the entrance of their residence in Asaba, Delta State. The kidnapping, witnessed by their security guard, immediately plunged her into a desperate search.
Despite paying a ransom of ₦700,000, Mr. Ubara was not released, and all contact from his captors ceased. Since that fateful day, there has been no word from him, leaving his wife in agonizing uncertainty. She has tirelessly sought solutions, enlisting the help of family, yet her husband remains missing.
As if the emotional toll of her husband's absence wasn't enough, the situation has taken a cruel turn within her own home. Her mother-in-law, who initially moved in as a guest with only personal belongings, has now, according to @h_okolobe, asserted ownership of the property. This house, meticulously built and furnished by her missing husband, is now at the center of a bitter conflict. The distraught woman expressed her disbelief, stating, "It is so hard to believe that a grandmother would force her only grandchildren and daughter-in-law out of their home—all because of greed." She further lamented that her mother-in-law and her other children entered their home with nothing but their clothes, only to subsequently claim ownership.
The dispute has escalated to the point where the mother-in-law has allegedly ignored multiple summonses from the traditional court at her husband's hometown in Ozoro, Isoko North LGA, Delta State. These summonses were intended for her to account for her actions regarding her son's properties. As the agonizing search for Mr. Believe Ubara persists, his wife is making a heartfelt plea for justice, imploring the public and authorities to help her uncover the truth behind her husband's disappearance and to resolve the distressing battle for the home they once shared.
