Big news dey come from Nigerian Army say dem don appoint Lieutenant Colonel Onyinyechi Appolonia Anele as the new Acting Director of Army Public Relations. This one na big thing because na the first time woman go hold this important position.
According to Vanguard newspaper, Lt. Col. Anele go start the work from April 22, 2025. She go take over from Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, dem don carry him go Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre.
Dem say her promotion show say army dey try to carry everybody along and dey promote people based on how good dem be for the work.
Anele enter army through Direct Regular Course 15 and she be member of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
She sabi military communication well well and she carry plenty experience come this new job.
Before dem give her this new post, Lt. Col. Anele go do six months training for strategic management for Nigerian Army Resource Centre for Abuja.
After the training, dem carry her go Department of Civil-Military Relations, where she do important work to make army and civilians understand each other better.
Before now, she don work as Public Relations Officer for the Office of the Chief of Army Staff, where she dey handle big media talk and make sure communication for inside army dey go well.
People see her appointment as good progress for Nigerian Army, say e show say dem dey give women more important role for inside army.
As the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lt. Col. Anele go dey in charge of how army dey talk to media, their plan for communication, and their public talk.
This big step show say army dey change how dem dey choose leaders, and e put Lt. Col. Anele in position to make army and Nigerian people understand each other better and trust each other more.
