The governor of Lagos State wife, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, don do good thing o! She give 500 people wey sabi different work important tools to help their business grow and make dem stand on their own. This one na part of how dem dey try find solution for the plenty people wey no get work for Lagos State.
The thing happen for Lagos House, Ikeja, on Monday, and dem call am ‘Y2024 Community Sensitisation and Empowerment’. This one na the sixth time dem dey do this kind thing since Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu start work for 2019.
The people wey collect the tools na different different type of workers like hairdressers, mechanic, shoemaker, caterer, carpenter, tiler, make-up artist, tailor, barber, and even popcorn seller.
When the wife of the Deputy Governor, Oluremi Hamzat, dey talk for the First Lady, she tell the people wey collect the tools make dem use am well well to help themselves and even help other people for their area.
She say, "This time around better pass the ones wey dem do before. Dem put more tools inside the program, after dem study well well and see wetin people really need."
She say the help no just be about giving tools.
She say, "As we dey give una these tools for work like hair, food, fashion, barbing, tailoring, and other skills, we no just dey give una equipment, we dey give una hope, respect, and the chance to be independent."
She explain say the program dey do two things: first, dem teach people about money, and now dem dey give dem the tools to make money and help Lagos State economy grow.
She beg the people wey collect the tools make dem no sell am, but make dem use am to make their life and their family life better.
She say, "To una wey collect these things, una be the heart of this program. Una story go show say wetin we do good. If una succeed, e go ginger other people, and una journey from getting help to owning business go show wetin fit happen if person get chance and purpose."
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Cecilia Dada, wey Toyin Salami represent, praise the First Lady for how she dey always help people for grassroots level.
