The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for Adamawa State don sieze plenty bags of precious stones wey illegal miners dey thief for the state.
According to wetin the command talk through their mouth man, Nyako Amidu Baba, on Tuesday, dem collect the things from places like Dumne, Song, and Michika Local Government Areas.
The security people seize 225 bags of fluorite and 41 bags of monazite wey dem catch the thief miners with for those areas.
The spokesman say because illegal mining dey cause problem, the state commandant, ID Bande, train 100 of their people as mining police. Dem say these people go dey patrol all the mining sites for the state.
He explain say dem give the mining police power to arrest people wey dey do illegal mining, collect the things dem thief, do investigation, and carry the people go court.
He say, "Dem even show the plenty stone wey dem catch to show how serious the illegal thing be and how big their operation be."
"This thing wey NSCDC do show say dem serious to stop how illegal mining dey spoil land, make government lose money, and destroy important environment."
"The command swear say dem go continue to catch these thief miners, and dem plan to watch and enforce things more for all the mining areas for the state."
Bande beg the people for the communities to help by telling them if dem see anybody doing illegal mining. He also tell everybody make dem no join hand for any mining wey no follow law.
