The Lagos State Government don vex well well and dem don lock up about 13 big market and some business places for Ketu and Ikorodu Road area. Dem do this thing because government don warn dem tire say make dem keep their place clean and dem no listen.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, talk say government no go take nonsense for this "Zero Tolerance for Waste" matter. He warn all market and business people say if dem no keep their place clean and throw their dirt well, government go lock their place down for good.
He say the market and places wey dem lock down be like Erukan Market, Oja Oba Market for Ketu, Owoseni Tundas Market, Oba Ogunjobi Market, all the shops for BRT Terminal for Mile 12, Ketu Terminal Market (all the 6 plazas), Ifesowapo Shop Owners Market, all the shops for Demurin Street Plaza for Ketu, one place for number 6 Demurin Road for Ketu, Ifelodun Market for Ketu, the park wey dey between Babajide Sanwo-Olu Market and Ikosi Fruit Market (Ibadan Unit 1 Park), Ketu Tipper Garage, and Ikosi Fruit Market.
Mr. Wahab make am clear say these places go remain locked until dem do proper cleaning, buy correct dustbin, get LAWMA people wey go carry their dirt, and show say dem go continue to keep their place clean.
The oga for LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, also talk say all the market leaders suppose take charge and make sure all the people selling for their market dey follow the rules for how to throw away dirt.
He say the rules dey simple: use the big double dustbin, no throw dirt for road or middle of the road so dem no go block traffic, make sure people inside the market dey follow the rules, and pay for their dirt to be carried. He warn say any market wey continue to do anyhow go collect serious punishment.
Dr. Gbadegesin say government go even tighten the rope for the coming weeks and dem no go spare anybody wey no do the right thing for environment.
He still say LAWMA dey ready to work with everybody to make Lagos clean, but all market people, sellers, and people wey dey live for Lagos gats help government to achieve this thing.
He end am say LAWMA dey use plenty money everyday to carry dirt from all the markets for Lagos, but all the bad way people dey throw dirt inside the market dey spoil their work. He beg all market leaders to try harder and make sure their people dey follow the law.
