Dem use fake papers, like tax documents and papers wey show how much dem dey pay workers, to apply for two different types of loans: Paycheck Protection Programme (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL). This money suppose to help small businesses and non-profit organizations wey dey lose money because of the pandemic. Government even say some small businesses fit get up to $10,000 as grant.
Now, this Kabiyesi, before he become king, him dey live for Medina, Ohio, for America. Him be accountant and sabi IT well well. Dem say him use some of him companies like Available Tax Services Incorporated, Available Financial Corporation, and Available Transportation Company to do this fraud.
The pastor, Oluwasanmi, him too use him own companies: Dayspring Transportation Limited, Dayspring Holding Incorporated, and Dayspring Property Incorporated to collect plenty money. Dem say instead of using the money for the businesses as government say, him use am for his own personal things, and that one no follow law for America.
Court papers show say together, Kabiyesi and the pastor collect about $3.76 million from these PPP and EIDL schemes.
Dem carry dem go court, and plenty charges dey on top their head – about 13 of them! Things like conspiracy to do wire fraud, wire fraud itself, conspiracy to defraud America, money laundering (wey mean hiding the bad money), and using money wey come from crime to do things. After about one year of going to court, the Kabiyesi and the pastor don finally say dem guilty for some of the charges. This mean say dem agree say dem do something wrong, and now dem fit go prison.
On April 10th, the pastor, Oluwasanmi, through his lawyer, say him guilty for three of the charges (counts one, eleven, and twelve). These charges talk about how him use the stolen money to buy a commercial property for South Euclid, Ohio, through wire transfer, and how him transfer money to his transportation company account. The court papers say him enter plea agreement, and dem go sentence am on July 2nd, 2025. Him bail still dey as before.
Then, on Monday, April 21st, our Kabiyesi, Oba Oloyede, also tell the court say him guilty. Dem fix Thursday, April 24th, to hear wetin him go talk fully about the plea.
