Plateau Governor Say Killers Go Pay, Ban Night Grazing and Okada



Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, don swear say the people wey dey kill people for Bassa communities and other places for the state must collect wotowoto. He talk say dem no go escape punishment.

For one broadcast wey he do this Wednesday morning, Mutfwang talk say the attacks na "arrange terror work" wey dem do to chase people from their land and spoil their peace.

The PUNCH newspaper report say at least 51 people, including women, children, and old people, die for the last attack wey happen for Kwall District for Bassa Local Government Area. Dem burn houses, destroy property, and injure plenty people.

Mutfwang talk say the attack come when government dey try settle the same wahala wey happen for Bokkos Local Government Area, where 52 people die and plenty houses burn.

He say soldiers and other security people don go there to protect the people.

To bring peace and make everywhere tight, the governor don put law say people no go dey graze cow for night and no vehicle go carry cow after 7 pm for the state, start from this Wednesday. He also say Okada no go dey move from 7 pm to 6 am for the whole state until further notice.

He say, “I dey announce these things wey go start this Wednesday, April 16: No grazing cow for night, no vehicle go carry cow after 7 pm, and no Okada from 7 pm to 6 am for the whole state.”

He add say, “We dey also activate community security system. I beg traditional leaders and youth groups make dem bring back local vigilante and do night patrol with security people. We must protect our community and follow law.”

“Also, I don tell the new Inter-Religious Council make dem start to talk to everybody to settle this wahala. I go also appoint Special Envoy on Peace to lead talks and gather information.”

“One Fact-Finding Committee wey get respected people go investigate why this wahala come back and give advice.”

“Make una know say Plateau people strong. We be people of peace, we dey welcome people, and we dey united across religion and tribe. Those wey want scatter us no go succeed.”

“To the killers and their sponsors, make una know say una bad work no go go unpunished. Una fit run, but una no go hide. Plateau go rise. Plateau go win.”

The governor talk say he don tell hospitals make dem treat the victims free, and dem dey give people wey run away food and shelter.

He say President Bola Tinubu don promise to give dem full support.

Mutfwang beg people make dem calm down and dey watch, dey help security people, and dey give dem correct information.

He say make dem follow law and no take law into their hands. He call on community leaders, traditional rulers, and youths make dem join hands against criminals and expose their sponsors.

“But make I tell una say my government dey do our work to protect lives and property, and we dey try our best,” the governor add.
