Kogi State Police Command on Thursday say na true say some gunmen go attack the family house of the senator wey dey represent Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. This happen for her village, Obeiba Community, inside Okehi Local Government Area, on Tuesday night.
The Commissioner of Police for Kogi State, Miller Dantawaye, tell people from News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for Lokoja about this thing. He say the police oga for Okehi Local Government don tell them everything about this bad thing wey happen. He say up till now, dem never catch anybody. But he promise say dem don start to investigate the matter and dem go find out who do am and deal with them.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also talk about the attack. She say the gunmen make mistake think say she dey the town, na why dem target her family house.
The senator explain say when the attack happen, the security people and some people for the community quick respond and chase the gunmen away. She thank God say nobody get any injury. She say dem quickly go report the matter for the police area command for the Local Government.
One statement from Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan's media team say the attack be like dem plan am well well to try and stop the senator from talking.
The statement even beg the Inspector-General of Police to bring back the senator's security details immediately so she go dey safe, because the attack serious.
The statement say make the public no worry. Dem say because Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan dey stand for truth and represent her people well, no mean say people suppose use violence and fear to treat her.
